The fact that I almost didn't have a product to review for this post is a testament to how good Oomi Noodles are.
I received a complimentary snap pack of noodles from Oomi to try (one snap pack contains two servings). I put it in the fridge and went to work. However, by the time I got home that night, they were gone. My husband had made one packet for his lunch that day, and enjoyed them so much he had the other pack with his dinner!
Fortunately Oomi had sent me some vouchers for more free noodles so I hightailed it down to my local Tesco a few days later to pick up a couple more packs.
Before we get to my thoughts about Oomi Noodles, let me tell you a little about what they are. They're high-protein noodles (made from fish protein) with 75% fewer carbs than regular egg noodles, and are also gluten free. They can be eaten hot or cold and added to stir fries, salads or any meal you fancy.
After I'd managed to secure myself some more noodles (and warned Hubster not to touch them until I'd taken my blog pictures) I cooked them with some mixed veg and spices, as you can see in the picture below. I did also add a tin of tuna for even more protein after I'd taken the pic, but by that time I was too hungry to faff about anymore and just ate it. And yes, I did use the chopsticks - they weren't just a photo prop!
Now that we've tried Oomi, I know that we'll definitely be purchasing them again in the future. Not only do they fit well with my husband's high protein diet for his weight lifting and strength training, but they're delicious too. Most noodles taste a little bland but these have a 'fresh' kind of flavour, somehow.
Well done, Oomi. We loved 'em.
You can find Oomi Noodles in your local Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and online at Ocado and Muscle Food for around £2.50 per packet.
