Who is this 'Nic' behind Nic's Healthy Life?
If you wanted to know a little more about me, you could always read my About Me page, although you probably won't find anything juicy there - it really just tells you about my interests, where I'm from and why I started this blog. Alternatively, you could read this post and find out a few of my quirks and things that make me unique. I think that's a lot more interesting.
As most of my blog posts are health, fitness or blogging related, I wanted to do something a little different for a change and write a more personal and fun post. So here are ten things you probably didn't know about me - some more unusual than others...

As most of my blog posts are health, fitness or blogging related, I wanted to do something a little different for a change and write a more personal and fun post. So here are ten things you probably didn't know about me - some more unusual than others...
1. I've always been active but I really started getting into fitness and nutrition around the age of 16. I'm 35 now, so that's more than half my life.
2. As a child, my favourite foods were salad and mushrooms (not at the same time). I also loved the coffee flavour Quality Street. Weird kid.
3. I have an irrational fear of cotton wool. I can't stand the feel of it and refuse to touch it.
4. I'm a minimalist and a bit of a clean freak.
5. I look young for my age. Most people guess that I'm in my mid twenties rather than mid thirties. I was always told that I'd be happy about it when I was older, but I still find it annoying when people think I'm a student or something.
6. I love old music. My favourite era is the fifties.
7. As a baby/toddler I was scared of grass. According to my mum, whenever we were outside and she put me down on grass I'd scream until she picked me back up. I was fine when sitting on concrete or tarmac. Or even a blanket on the grass. Just not the actual grass.
8. My favourite film of all time is Back to the Future and I have the same birthday as Michael J Fox (not the same year, obv).
9. I love coconut oil so much that I could eat spoonfuls of it straight from the jar. But I don't, because that would be weird and gross and no-one would like me.
10. I'm an introvert, quite shy in real life and worry that people find me boring.
And now, because I'm nosy, I'm tagging ten other bloggers to do this too. So Steff, Aimee, Sam, Matt, Bexa, Ruth, Ross, Lauren, Hannah and Jasmin, I want to know ten unusual things about you. I'd love it if you could link back to this post and also tag a few of your favourite bloggers to post some strange facts about themselves!
What's the most unusual thing about you? Let me know in the comments or do this tag yourself and send me your link so I can read it.

Loved reading this! In some ways we are quite similar. I am also an introvert and look young for my age. I am also 35 but people normally think I am 25-27 years old which is cool and I am quite happy about that. :-)
ReplyDeleteAs much as I moan about looking young, I'd rather look 10 years younger than I am than 10 years older!
DeleteBleuurrgghhh you can have all the coffees 🤣 but I 100% agree with coconut oil and Back To The Future 👍👍 imI one of those introverts that really like my own company and to listen/observe in groups but can be really chatty 1 to 1
ReplyDeleteI'm exactly the same. When I'm in a group I'm pretty quiet but when I'm with just one or two close friends you can't shut me up.
DeleteI used to hate eating mushrooms and olives when I was younger and now I can eat them all the time. I look like I’m on my early twenties and I’m turning thirty so I feel your pain lol it’s like a good and bad thing!

I never used to like olives until a few years ago. I don't know what changed but I love them now.
DeleteOoh this is such a fun blog post idea! You definitely look young for your age and you’re not kidding about being a weird child in terms of food, haha! I still hate mushrooms even now!

I know it's not normal for a child to be so into vegetables. I would get so excited when we had salad for dinner; my mum must've been so confused! She happily gave me all the coffee sweets though because she hated them :)
DeleteThis is such a fun post Nic! Thank you for nominating me, I’ll have to get thinking of my weird stuff (that shouldn’t take long ha ha). I can relate to the age thing, I’m 33 next birthday and people say I look in my early twenties. I quite like it though, I definitely don’t feel my age. I’m an introvert too, I prefer cats to people. Thank you for sharing, really enjoyed reading this <3 xx

Deletewhat a fun post! i also have people say i look young. i’m 24 and I remember recently I told someone that i just graduated and they asked if I meant from high school, but alas it was from university 🤦🏼♀️ xx

Glad you liked the post. Maybe one day we'll start looking our age and then we'll be moaning about that!
DeleteThis was so fun! Everyone always thinks I look a lot younger than I am. I got offered a child ticket on the train the other day, I'm 24 . It's amazing that you got into health and fitness so young. I was never active at all until I was 21 x

I think I've always been into health and fitness, really. I enjoyed PE and sports day at school and I've always loved vegetables.
DeleteI love Back to the Future, such a great movie! I started laughing when I read #9 though because 'no-one would like me!' Fun post, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHehe. Well maybe they wouldn't dislike me but they'd probably think I had a screw loose!
DeleteI'm always told I look young for my age. I just turned 23 but when asked, people usually say I look 15. I've even been asked for ID to watch a film in the cinema that had a 15 rating...

You do look young! I still get IDed for things sometimes, too. My husband thinks it's hilarious.
Deletefun trivia. thanks for sharing. as a child funny enough i found back to the future weird/silly. ;)

It is weird and silly but that's what makes it so good :)
DeleteLove getting to know other bloggers!!
ReplyDeleteSo do I, you really get to know the person behind the blog.
DeleteThis is so fun to read! You seem like a lovely person! <3
